“Plants vs. Zombies 2″, the sequel to the popular PC/Mac and iOS strategy game, finally has an approximate release date!
“Yay! I can finally say it! PvZ 2: It’s About Time is coming in July,” Stephanie Bayer, PopCap’s community marketing manager for “Plants vs Zombies”, wrote on Twitter this week.
Little is known about the game, as PopCap has chosen to keep details a secret until closer to launch, but this new teaser video gives us a better idea of what to expect. Check it out:
According to last August’s press release announcing the existence of the upcoming game, “Plants vs. Zombies 2″ will “include a bevy of new features, settings, and situations, designed to delight the franchise’s tens of millions of fans around the world.”
Activision has officially announced that the next installment in the “Call of Duty” franchise will be “Call of Duty: Ghosts”, and will feature a new story and characters.
The game is being developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original “Call of Duty”, as well as 2007’s “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” and its two sequels. The game will be released on Nov. 5 for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and next-generation consoles
“‘Ghosts’ delivers an all-new story, all-new characters, an all-new ‘Call of Duty’ world, all powered by a next generation ‘Call of Duty’ engine, which is a leap forward for the franchise,” said Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg. “Infinity Ward is going all-in to create the next generation of ‘Call of Duty’ worthy of the world’s greatest fans.”
The first trailer promises “Call of Duty” fans will get an exclusive look at the game on May 21, at the Seattle presentation where Microsoft is expected to unveil the next Xbox, on May 21.
If you’re as excited for Batman: Arkham Origins as we are, you’re definitely going to want to pick up the latest copy of GamesMaster Magazine 264 – inside, WB Montreal confirms the game’s release date as October 25 for Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC and discusses some of the features gamers can expect! Here are a few of the new details:
Batman: Arkham Origins is the story behind “how the unrefined, rough-around-the-edges, early career Batman” becomes Dark Knight. It takes place in roughly “year two” of Batman’s career.
Batman and Captain Gordon meet for the first time during the events of Arkham Origins.
Senior producer Ben Mattes says there are elements to the story that they will never discuss before the game has shipped
Batman in Arkham Origins has the moves and the abilities, but hasn’t faced the challenges that shape him into the Batman we know. Arkham City Batman is described as Batman 5.0, while Arkham Origins Batman is 0.9.
Detective mode has been overhauled, as has the gadget upgrade progression tree.
Goons will be able to “take advantage of the verticality” of New Gotham
WB Montreal believes it has made “the coolest version of Deathstroke. He’s a wonderful counterpart to Batman”
Northern Gotham is the area that became Arkham City; it is a mix of low-rent residential and industrial buildings. Referred to as the Brooklyn of Gotham. New Gotham is described as the ‘Soho’ or ‘East Village’ of the city. It is a brand new, upmarket area, borderline financial zone of the city. Focus is tall buildings, catwalks and walkways here.
The GCPD is corrupt, so Gotham’s swat teams are out to get Batman too.
A ‘Most Wanted’ mechanic offers a selection of mini-campaign side-stories centered around other major villains.
